Bunaoyama Kansatsusha (ブナオ山観察舎) is an observation center where you can watch wildlife such as Japanese antelope and monkeys across the river. The center also offers 60-mins nature walks every weekend and on holidays during the snowy season. When walking on the snow, you can wear kanjiki, a pair of Japanese traditional snowshoes!

Japanese people love going to an onsen, particular those rustic hot spring villages nestled in the mountains,exactly like Hakusanroku! Mt Hakusan brings many benefits to the region, and the onsen is one of them. While there are a few public baths and onsen-only facilities you can visitwhenever you feel like it, some onsen accommodations offer a tachiyori-yu (drop-in) system, whereby you can use the onsen at your leisure without being an overnight guest. The nature of each hot spring in this area differs, and thus many tourists enjoy the pleasures of onsen-hopping. Also, all but a few accommodations offer day trip service including entrance to the bath, lunch, and sometimes even room reservations.

Nestled in the leafy highlands of Ichirino Kogen, Roan boasts an open-air bath to which water comes directly from the hot spring source. After taking a relaxing dip, savor charcoal grilled dishes while sitting alongside the irori, a traditional Japanese fireplace.
